Sometimes an environment concept is less about designing every object — and more about answering one question: how should this place feel?
Root Gallery is a place where the player descends into a dark and mysterious underground world, surrounded by a vast network of ancient roots and hidden passages.
The goal was to create a sense of scale, mystery and discovery — a place that feels unfamiliar, slightly dangerous, and full of secrets waiting to be uncovered.
I explored several lighting and color directions to find the right atmosphere for the location.
The last slide shows how the environment appeared in the actual game.
